Setting up /operating camera equipment
In the first image I am seen setting/ operating camera this is to get ready for the start of filming for the short film. I have to check the quality of the camera settings such as the aperture, ISO and shutter speed to decide whether or not they require adjustment in response to the external environment so that there is no issues regarding the camera quality when shooting scenes for the short film. During the production stage of the short film there were a number of settings that had to be changed in order to adapt to the setting/environment which we filmed in. These settings being the ISO, shutter-speed and aperture during the first half of filming where we were filming the following camera settings were - ISO - 1600, shutter-speed1/1000 and aperture was at F8.0 which changed over time to shutter speed - 1/1000, ISO - 3200 , Aperture - F8.0 and shutter - speed 1/1000, ISO - 6400 and aperture at F8.0 the reason for these changes were because of the external environment changes.
Setting up/ operating Lighting equipment
Within the final 2 images this shows the evidence of myself setting up/operating lighting equipment. I am seen using an on- camera light during the production of the short film, the reason for this is because there is a scene within the short film which uses 3 point lighting therefore the use of an on-camera was necessary as a source of light for the shot. There was also the use of the other 2 secondary light sources which are shown above. These light sources helped to create the 3-point lighting effect for the extra scenes that we were tasked with completing as evidence to show the use of various lighting techniques.
change of ISO, shutter-speed and aperture
During the production stage of the short film the camera settings had to be changed due to the changes in the external environment specifically the time of day there were changes that had to be made in order to ensure that the camera quality was smooth throughout the entire short film therefore the main setting which had to be changed was the ISO which was changed from 1600 to 3200 this was in response to the change in the time of day therefore the sky would become darker which meant camera settings had to be adjusted so that filming was clear regardless of the setting change.
variety of lighting techniques
There were various lighting techniques that were used such as direct and indirect lighting, direct lighting was used to have a single light source focusing on a particular subject where as indirect is lighting which comes from all sides which can also be used to highlight a specific subject to create effect on the audience as this focuses their attention on that subject as they are the main focus of the camera.
